For the coronation of Empress Elizabeth, consort of Czar Alexander I a stun-ning new crown was made which echoed the design of the Crown made for Catherine II. Made in St. Petersburg in 1801, it is in the tra-ditional Russian form, set entirely with diamonds. It is from the Monde of this crown that the design of this set of jewellery has been inspired
