For her engagement to Prince Charles in 1981, Diana, Princess of Wales was given a large 20-carat sapphire brooch surrounded by two rows of diamonds as an engagement gift by Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. Not being the type of person to wear a brooch, Diana later added rows of pearls to the brooch and turned it into a choker, which she wore often, most well remembered was the night she danced at the White House with John Travolta in 1985. This choker is silver-plated and features bohemian crystals and faux pearls.
The central detail measures 3cm(1.2in) by 4cm(1.6in).
