Inspired by the Queen Alexandra Earrings, these Bohemian Crystals and faux pearl earrings have been a very popular design since the 1850's.The original pearl earrings, surrounded by diamonds were designed by Garrard the Crown jeweller in 1863. They were part of the wedding gift that the Prince of Wales (Later Edward VII) gave to his bride Princess Alexandra of Denmark. She wore them often, including her Coronation in 1902. They have passed down through the Royal Family to Queen Mary, who wore them often. When she died in 1953, they were bequeathed to HM The Queen.
