The chess pieces represent characters or places that appear in the many Sherlock Holmes stories penned by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The fictional private detective, created by Sir Athur Conan Doyle, is featured as the King in the remarkable chess set. His opponents are led by his arch enemy, Professor Moriaty, with the fearsome Hound of the Baskervilles as the Knight.
