The model was once safeguarded in the Hohenzollern museum at Schloss Monbijou in Berlin, but tragically disappeared during World War II and remains missing to this day.

While no final crown was ever produced, the design itself became a significant heraldic device for the German Kings from 1871 until Kaiser Wilhelm's abdication in 1918.
